The Tirana police have made it possible to identify a woman who has been repeatedly denounced on social networks for mistreating cats.

It is about the citizen with the initials EH, 46 years old, already reported to the Prosecutor's Office of Tirana for the criminal offense of animal cruelty.

The woman in question has been filmed several times abusing cats in different areas of Tirana, and even appeared during a television interview in "Skënderbej" square holding a dead cat in her hands, which she petted while pretending that it was alive.

Police notification:

In relation to a news posted on portals, with a video showing a citizen who mistreats animals (cats) continuously, we clarify that:   

Services of Police Station No. 4, after the publication of the footage, the investigations into the case in question began immediately, according to all the provisions provided in the Criminal Code, and at the end of the actions they referred the materials to the Prosecutor's Office at the Court of First Instance of the General Jurisdiction of Tirana, in charge of the citizen EH, 46 years old, resident in Tirana, for the criminal offense of "Animal abuse". 

Also, from the specialists for the Investigation of Crimes of the Police Station No. 3, on 23.11.2022, the materials were referred to the Prosecutor's Office, for this citizen, for the same criminal offense.      

The Tirana Local Police Directorate thanks the media and citizens who report all cases of illegality and invites them again to report to the toll-free number 112.
