Greek media write that the body of a person found buried in September 2022 in Mouriki, Viotia, has been identified.

According to the DNA analysis, the body turns out to be that of 46-year-old Ilir Rrasa from Elbasan, who had escaped from Patres prison in August 2011 after a 6-day leave. The victim was sentenced to 15 years and 2 months in prison and a 30 thousand euro fine for drug trafficking.

His body was found buried in a field by workers installing an underground pipeline, one kilometer before Mouriki village in Thiva.

In his clothes, the policemen of Thiva had found an identity card of the Albanian authorities, thus establishing that he was an escapee from the prisons of Patra. The police authorities took biological material from his brother in Athens, which was identified with that of the victim.

The police of Thiva continues the investigation to identify the perpetrators who buried him at the scene and whether or not it is a criminal offense, the Greek media write .
