A few days ago in Italy, 19-year-old Albanian Eralda Spahillari and 17-year-old Italian Barbara Brotto lost their lives. The young women were going to a club to spend the night with their boyfriends when they crashed into a tree on a road in the municipality of Treviso.
The two boys who were in the car, Daniel Castelli, 18 years old, and Mikele Tatani, nineteen years old, who were driving his father's BMW, were injured in the accident.
Gëzim Qerosi is an 18-year-old Albanian who is being investigated for murder by the Prosecutor's Office of Treviso. This is because on the night of the fatal accident he was driving a "Polo" type vehicle when he was involved in a race with the young people who were in the BMW type car. For days he has been locked up at home, protected by his family. Contacted by phone from the Italian media, he said:
I saw my name in the newspapers, they were written like that and not true, like the fact that we were doing a speed race. But my lawyer said I can't comment. And now I wouldn't even feel like talking. But he seems to have shown another version to his friends. One of them says:
We met him the next day, after the accident, and he explained to us how it happened. He told us: I was in front, with my car along the road, and Mikel was behind me. Then he tried to pass me on the left. He was walking very fast. His car crashed into my side and immediately lost control. It was at that moment that the BMW collided with one of the trees on the road. They started shouting in their car and one of the other boys who were with me called 118. Mikele's car was destroyed...
His version can be believed as there is a scratched part of the car and a broken mirror glass. There are still some unsolved mysteries about this matter. After the suspected 140 km/h race, blocking the road by Gezimi, who may have inadvertently turned the steering wheel to the left causing loss of control for Mikel, it remains unclear why the 4 boys left the scene leaving their friends.
