A 42-year-old man in Kavaja has been arrested after allegedly injuring a 39-year-old man with a firearm.

According to information, the conflict is suspected to have started after Bari Doda had harassed Pleurat Mustafa's partner , who then retaliated by shooting him in the leg with a pistol.

The injured person is in hospital and is reported to be out of danger.

After the incident, with the help of 35-year-old Agim Çelhyka, Mustafa fled the crime scene and hid in neighborhood 17 in Durrës, where he was caught by the police after about three hours.

A 39-year-old man was wounded with a gun during a conflict for weak motives. Thanks to the timely response of the Police services, the suspected perpetrator of the incident was identified, located and arrested.

The citizen who helped him leave the scene is also in handcuffs.

After several hours of searching, the Police found and seized, as material evidence, the firearm, the pistol, with which the perpetrator is suspected of having inflicted the injury.

The services of the Kavaja Police Commissariat, in cooperation with the Specialists for the Investigation of Serious Crimes and the operational forces of the Durrës Local Police Directorate, immediately after receiving the notification that at around 20:30, on 22.03.2026, in neighborhood no. 6, Kavaja, a citizen had wounded another citizen with a firearm, organized the work to identify and capture the perpetrator, as well as to clarify the circumstances and legal documentation of the case.

Thanks to the timely response of the Police services, it was possible to identify the perpetrator and, after about three hours, locate him in the 17/1 neighborhood, Durrës.

The operational services of the Durrës DVP made it possible to capture and arrest citizen PM, 42 years old, resident of Kavaja.

This citizen, after a conflict for weak motives, is suspected of having wounded with a firearm (pistol) citizen BD, 39 years old, resident of Rikaj, Kavaja, who is in Durrës Hospital, out of danger to his life.

During the operations, citizen A. Ç., 35 years old, resident of Kavaja, was also caught and arrested in flagrante delicto, who is suspected of having helped the perpetrator leave the scene by transporting him by vehicle towards Durrës.

Police services, after several hours of checks, were able to find the pistol firearm, which the perpetrator had thrown away while leaving the scene.

In cooperation with the Prosecutor's Office, work continues on the complete legal documentation of the case.

The procedural materials will be forwarded to the Prosecutor's Office at the Court of First Instance of General Jurisdiction of Durrës, for further action.
