A tragic road accident rocked the Drashovica area on Sunday evening, on the Vlora-Kotë axis, leaving behind three victims and drawing attention to the dangerous nature of this road segment.

The serious incident occurred along the Vlora River Road, a busy road for drivers, where according to preliminary data, two vehicles collided head-on.

The collision was powerful, causing severe damage to both vehicles, which were almost completely destroyed in the frontal area.

As a result of the impact, the two drivers, Adi Alushaj, around 30 years old, and Esat Brahimaj, around 40 years old, lost their lives at the scene. According to sources, the collision was fatal and left no opportunity for the drivers to react.

Meanwhile, the passenger in one of the vehicles, Andrea Begaj, was extricated from the vehicle in critical condition and was urgently transported to the hospital, where he received first aid. However, despite the efforts of the medical staff, he did not survive his injuries and died just a few hours later, bringing the number of victims from this serious accident to three.

Immediately after the accident, police forces, fire services and ambulances arrived at the scene, working to extract people from the vehicles and provide first aid. The area was cordoned off for several hours, while traffic was temporarily blocked to allow emergency services to intervene and conduct investigative actions.

The investigation team has immediately begun work to uncover the full dynamics of the accident. It is initially suspected that the head-on collision may have been caused by high speed, a wrong overtaking or loss of control of one of the vehicles, but these remain to be confirmed by official investigations.
