The director of civil aviation, Maksim Et'hemaj, spoke to the media after the end of the Sigiriya Meeting regarding the second cyber attack in a short time from Iran, where this time the target is the TIMS system.
Ethem stated that as a result of this attack, there was no passenger who canceled the flight, as he said that today the flow was managed successfully and that the flights continued normally.
"The air traffic system was not affected by this attack. Meanwhile, the way this incident causes problems at the airport is simple. Blockage of the TIMS system creates flight delays. But I am very happy to tell you that no passenger has missed the trip. The airport has three waves of travel. The first wave in the morning, the second at 11-12 and the other at dinner. The first wave was successfully managed, as we communicated the problem to the passengers and they showed up 2 hours early.
I invite passengers to continue arriving two hours before their flight due to this situation. This is an act of sabotage. It is not our job to say when this can be fixed, but to make it possible for passengers not to miss their plane. The committee will continue its activity until the return to normality.
We risk nothing from this attack except delays. Albania is not the first. All countries attacked will always be a war. The TIMS system was shut down to protect itself. It is only opened with a position to see if it is in other attacks. There is one coming in and one going out at work to make sure what stage we are at. They are very close to the solution, the final tests are being done," said the Director of Civil Aviation.
