Interior Minister Bledi Çuçi has confirmed that the TIMS system has returned to 6 border points.
He emphasizes that they are working to put it to work in other points as well.
Çuçi says that even in this case the USA has supported Albania, while they are working to make the system as safe as possible.
"Congratulations to the IT team at the General Directorate of the State Police for working without interruption since the first minute of the cyber attack to get our systems and especially TIMS back up and running. I also thank the American partners who have been there in this case as well and are making every effort to make Albania as safe as possible. Since midnight, the TIMS system has returned to full operation at the Rinas Border Crossing Point. Similarly, it has been put back into operation at other border points of the country: Hani i Hoti, Kapshtica, Muriqan, Morinë, and Kakavijë. Currently, our experts are continuing the uninterrupted work for the restoration of the TIMS system at other Border Crossing Points, as well as taking the necessary measures to ensure that there are no more interruptions. We ask for the understanding of citizens who have encountered delays., he said.
