A convict who is serving his sentence in the IEVP Rrogozhin a few days ago had received a paid leave and joined his family. It turns out that he has to serve another 4 years in prison.

The convict, whose name is not disclosed, had been granted a third time as a reward for his release and should have returned to the Rrogozhina Penitentiary Institution earlier this week, but unlike the previous two cases, he did not return to the Penitentiary Institution this time.

From the verifications carried out, it appears that after the legal term of the permit expired, he left the country, while the authorities of the Directorate of Prisons and the police were alerted about the case in question.

The convict was supposed to be returned to prison on December 2, 2024. Only a few hours after the violation of the permit, the authorities of IEVP Rrogozhin went to the convict's apartment and demanded his return to the cell.

But the family members answered that he was not in the apartment.

According to them, he may have fled abroad, reliable sources inform. This statement of his family members after the verifications turned out to be true.

IEVP Rrogozhinë has an accommodation capacity of 343 people and is a regular security prison with a detention section.

This prison was put into operation for the first time at the beginning of 2002. Convicted for various criminal offenses and pre-trial detainees mainly from Fieri, Lushnja and Berati were accommodated there.
