Police have arrested a 52-year-old man from Peqin who is on an international wanted list.

Luan Gripshi has been sentenced in Italy to 4 years, 10 months and 14 days in prison for participating in a criminal organization that trafficked narcotics.    

Gripshi was declared an international wanted person by Interpol Rome, after the Court of Appeals in Venice sentenced him on April 3, two years ago.

Interpol Tirana continues procedures in cooperation with Italian authorities for his extradition.

A 52-year-old man, sentenced in Italy to 4 years, 10 months and 14 days in prison, for participating in a criminal organization that trafficked narcotics, was captured in Peqin.    

Following successive operations to capture citizens declared internationally wanted, the structures of the Directorate of Special Operational Force at the DPSSh finalized the operation codenamed "Operational 65". During this operation, the following citizen was captured in Peqin and arrested with the aim of extradition to Italy:

Luan Gripshi alias Rudin Gripshi, 52 years old, resident of Peqin.

This citizen was declared internationally wanted by Interpol Rome, after the Court of Appeals in Venice, with the decision dated 03.04.2023, sentenced him to 4 years, 10 months and 14 days in prison, for participating in a criminal organization that trafficked narcotics. 

Interpol Tirana continues procedures in cooperation with Italian authorities for the extradition of this citizen.
