15 months after the brutal murder of Egli Proga in Pogradec, today none of the 5 accused are in prison.

By decision of the Korça Court, 3 days ago, the two suspected murderers also left the cell. 

Leonidha Guçe and Denis Meçe were released from detention after the prosecution violated the deadlines, and the Korça Court imposed house arrest on them until the investigation is completed.

Meanwhile,  Arjan Manellari, Voltan and Andi Shkullaku , accused of failing to report a crime, have been under investigation for a long time under the measure of compulsory appearance.

Proga's murder occurred on August 10, 2024, but the Korça Prosecutor's Office is still continuing the investigation.

The case has "frozen" in the unraveling of the security cameras seized at the "Stropcka" bar where the incident occurred, while the deleted footage has been taken outside Albania for expert examination and return.

But it seems that the delay in fully documenting the event has caused the defense of Denis Meçe and Leonidha Guçe to request a change in the security measure for them.

They are currently expected to continue the investigation outside of their cells, while they are accused of intentional murder, committed in collaboration.

Leonidha Guçe was initially investigated only for failing to report a crime, but 9 months after the murder, the Prosecution discovered that he had also participated in the brutal beating of Proga, along with Denis Meçe.
