The wife of the head of Ukrainian military intelligence has been poisoned, Ukrainian media reports.
Marianna Budanova, the wife of Kyrylo Budanov, is suffering from "heavy metal" poisoning, Reuters reports, citing Ukrainian media.
The alleged incident came weeks after the Russian government said it would file terrorism charges against Budanov and three other military officials in connection with drone strikes on Russian territory and regions of Ukraine currently held by Russian occupation forces.
It is not known who is behind the reported poisoning or when it happened.
Ukrainian media Babel quoted an unnamed source as saying that Budanova has been hospitalized and is being treated for poisoning.
Ukrainska Pravda, meanwhile, quoted a source as saying the poison was likely placed in her food and other members of Ukraine's military intelligence agency were also poisoned.
The news agency says Budanov, who has played a key role in clandestine operations against Russian troops during the war, previously said he would "continue to kill Russians everywhere on the face of this world until the complete victory of Ukraine."
