Four people have been arrested as part of a structured criminal group operating in Fier and Lushnje for arms trafficking as well as the production, sale and cultivation of narcotics.
Representatives of the Fier prosecutor's office and police announced that the investigations into this group lasted for six months.
In addition to Fier and Lushnja, the group also operated outside this region, in Durrës, Shkodër and Kukës.
As the director of the Fier police, Skënder Hita, announced, in some cases the weapons were obtained from Kosovo and illegally imported through the green border in Morina.
On June 2, 13 searches were conducted in residential areas, vehicles, warehouses and land areas where ammunition, firearms and narcotics were found.
Seized were: 4,000 cannabis seedlings, 5,000 cannabis seeds, three automatic firearms, two shotguns, a pistol, 636 cartridges of various calibers, two police radios, two police uniforms, a plastic mask with a wig, three vehicles and ten cell phones.
As for the arrested, they are people with significant social risk and previous precedents in the field of narcotics.
Those arrested are:

Meanwhile, a 51-year-old man from the village of Peshtan in Fier, previously arrested for resisting police officers, was released on bail.
"The investigations show that this group operated in an organized manner, with the aim of trafficking weapons from Kosovo to Albania, to then sell them to individuals involved in criminal activities. B. B and Q. Sh. were the organizers of the group. The other members had a role in securing weapons and finding clients. At the same time, the leader of the group, BB, organized the cultivation and then the sale of cannabis," said the director of the Fier Police, Skënder Hita.
Authorities say that the operation codenamed "Procedimi" is ongoing to identify and capture other individuals who may have been involved in these criminal activities.
