Gledis Nano , former Director General of the State Police, was invited to DritareTV, recounting his experience from appointment to dismissal from duty.

He indicated that the appointment was an immediate decision, as there were no vacancies at the time he was Director General of the State Police.

"I was told that I would be the Director General of the State Police, there was no competition at the time. It is not a matter of desire; the police act on orders and it is difficult to refuse such a task, because it shows weakness. I definitely accepted it," said Gledis Nano.

Former Director General of the State Police spoke about the period when he was in office. Nano says that the duty of the Director is an obligation to the public and partner institutions

Nano: I was happy and began to experience the burden: how the work will go and how the result will be achieved. It is an obligation to the public and partner institutions.

He also spoke about the dismissal, which he considered unfair. According to him, he was at peace with the law, with God, and with all his colleagues.

"I have been in office as director for 10 months and 25 days. To the best of my knowledge and conscience, I am calm and clear in relation to the law, to God and to all my colleagues. This was a process that I would definitely carry out, because considering myself calm and clear, I could not accept injustice. The decision repealed the dismissal, which means that now I can return, but this is at the discretion of the Council of Ministers," said Nano.

We recall that the former Director General of the State Police, Gledis Nano, won the legal battle with the Albanian government for her dismissal from office.

Nano has a career of over 20 years in the police and for the last 5 years before being appointed police chief, he was director of the Anti-Terrorism Directorate at the State Police.

He is a graduate of the FBI National Academy in Quantico Virginia, in addition to many other trainings with allied security agencies, and in his work he has collaborated closely with international partners.
