The Special Court against Corruption and Organized Crime has rejected the request of former Prime Minister Sali Berisha and his son-in-law Jamarbër Malltezi to remove the measure of house arrest.
Berisha's lawyer, Genc Gjokutaj, said after the end of the session that GJKKO did not even accept the request for the dismissal of judge Irena Gjoka.
"The court decided to continue the measure of house arrest. Today, we heard arguments in the session. "Today we received a copy of the decision of this court to dismiss our request for the dismissal of judge Irena Gjoka", said the lawyer.
Meanwhile, SPAK said in the session that Sali Berisha violated the house arrest measure, bringing former MEP Elmar Brok and the Italian journalists of Rai 3 into the apartment.
Lawyer Gjokutaj considered this claim of SPAK as an aberration.
"Sali Berisha has been breaking house arrest since December 30 without leaving the door. The perversion of the court and SPAK is such that it does not affect the activity of the leader of the opposition".
Former Prime Minister Berisha and his son-in-law Jamarbër Malltezi are under house arrest as they are being investigated for the privatization of the former "Partizani" complex.
