Published without permission 5 works of Ismail Kadare, submission obligation for
University book

The Prosecutor's Office of Tirana has launched an investigation against the owner of a bookstore, for forgery. It is learned that this citizen forged 4 literary works of the well-known writer Ismail Kadare. The prosecutor of the case, Bledaj Valikaj, has asked the court to set a mandatory security measure for Mirela Bardhi, the owner of the University book "Book Store".

Charges have been brought against her for "Violation of intellectual property rights" and "Concealment of income

The event was discovered thanks to stimulating actions, where a citizen appeared on April 10, 2024 at the bookstore in question and purchased 2 other books by author Ismail Kadaren, namely the books titled "The General of the Dead Army" and "Palace of Dreams" ", publications that were not produced by the "Onufri" publishing house, but unauthorized copies.

In relation to this case, Enxhi Hudhri says that she works as a designer in the "Onufri" publishing house, which is also owned by her father, Bujar Hudhri.

Doubts started after in one of the bookstores called "Libri Universitar Book Store", from the report he made to "Onufri", it turns out that for the time period from August 1, 2023 to January 1, 2024, not a single copy of the author Ismail Kadare was sold and this has led me to suspect that duplicate publications may have been entered and not authorized by them as a publishing house.

For this reason, on April 9, Hudhri bought 3 books by Isamil Kadaren in this bookstore, namely the books entitled "Broken April", "Who brought Doruntina" and "Chronicles in stone", publications that are not owned by the house than their publisher and are unauthorized copies from their side. The prosecution's request for Mirela Bardhi was accepted by the court on Monday, May 20.
