The Special Court against Corruption and Organized Crime has decided to leave in force the security measure "prison arrest" for businessman Ergys Agasi, accepting the request of the Special Prosecution Office after a marathon session.

Despite the jury's decision, defense attorney Maks Haxhia stated after the hearing that the defense managed to refute one of the most serious charges brought against his client.

"The problem is that the accusation of illegal deprivation of liberty against Mr. Agasi, with the analysis of the evidence administered and the decisions of the prosecution, showed and led to the acquittal of this accusation against Mr. Agasi. The accusation of passive corruption, the uncertainty of the material presented so far, has followed the court to remain in positions of pressure on the court, today this accusation was presented. The client spoke and gave explanations and insisted and proved that he has never participated in tenders, has not gained any benefit through tendering and has not been part of criminal groups under various pressures," he said.

Haxhia explained that after analyzing the evidence provided, the charge of "illegal deprivation of liberty" against Agas was dropped.

According to the lawyer, the charge of passive corruption was filed today by the prosecution through unreliable material, with the aim of exerting pressure on the court.

Meanwhile, it is learned that Agasi gave detailed explanations to the black squads, where he insisted and proved that he had never been a participant or beneficiary in public tenders, nor part of criminal groups.
