Albanian criminals convicted in Great Britain are being sent to serve their sentences in their country, where prisons have rooms for making love, writes the British ' Mirror '.
Criminals transferred to the country's prisons can enjoy four hours a month in bed with their "parties", unlike here where conjugal visits are not allowed. Our revelation comes as around 200 criminals, including murderers and rapists, are set to be transferred to quiet prisons in Albania under a deal with the UK Government.
According to their prison regulations: “Each prison must have a special environment for spousal meetings. "Such a facility should have beds and sheets that should be changed at the end of each meeting." The rules add: "Extended visits are allowed for the convict who is married or cohabiting under the Family Code after the woman has been searched by the police."
Other benefits include weekly food and clothing packages from the family, personal cooking facilities and up to seven days' leave for good behaviour. And some others will have lighter sentences.
Among the repatriates is also a drug kingpin, who was transferred to a prison in the Albanian capital, Tirana, two weeks ago. Erald Mema, 39, was sentenced to 25 years by a judge at Oxford Crown Court in October 2018 for a major cocaine haul.
He is among many Albanian nationals who have been given the opportunity to move to facilities at home under a repatriation scheme.
About 12 murderers, eight rapists and more than 100 drug or firearms offenders are expected to return to serve the rest of their sentences. Some will serve less prison time than in the UK as their sentences have been brought into line with Albanian legislation.
In some cases this is lower, but in UK prisons prisoners are released halfway through their sentences in order to free up space in prisons.
