Building with elevator

The building you see in the photo is located on "Andon Zako Çajupi" street in the capital and is one of the many buildings from before the 90s, where the residents got together and applied to Tirana Municipality for the installation of an elevator.

Thanks to this cooperation between residents and the Municipality of Tirana, today they have an elevator that meets all safety and comfort standards, making their lives easier, especially for the elderly and young mothers.

Through the Community Fund that was created in the Municipality of Tirana, in recent years citizens have had the opportunity to invest in the improvement of the infrastructure of the building where they live, where half of the expenses were paid by the residents themselves and the other half by the municipality. The most numerous requests have been for the thermal insulation of the facade, the terrace and the installation of elevators.

Through a decision of the municipal council, for this year the value of the financing has been increased, and for some categories the costs will be paid 100% by the municipality of Tirana, such as for heads of households with disabilities, retired heads of households, heads of households with economic assistance. Through the Community Fund, buildings will be added that will be reconstructed, giving an added value to the property.
