Four police officers on duty at the Velipoja Police Station were arrested this Friday, after being accused of abuse of office.

More specifically, the following have been handcuffed:

- Deputy Commissioner Zamir Sytari, 40 years old, acting Chief of Velipoja Police Station;
- Deputy Commissioner Arben Hoxha, 45 years old, acting Specialist for Crime Investigation at the Velipoja Police Station;
- Inspector Ergys Lohja, 34 years old, acting Assistant Specialist in Community Policing, at the Velipoja Police Station;
- Inspector Hysni Beqiri, 53 years old, acting Assistant Specialist in Community Policing, at the Velipoja Police Station.

The above effectives are suspected that by their actions and inactions, as persons with direct responsibility, have favored the cultivation of significant quantities of narcotic plants in areas that have had the opportunity to be supervised and controlled.

The procedural materials were transferred to the competence of the Shkodra Judicial District Prosecutor's Office.
