Hysni Qamil Repaj , sentenced to life imprisonment, passed away this Monday morning, March 30 .

The 64-year-old, born and residing in Shkodra, was serving a sentence in Drevona prison for the criminal offense of murder and illegal possession of weapons.

Announcement:

Today, on 30.03.2026, at around 09:40, the life-sentenced prisoner, Hysni Qamil Repaj, born on 15.01.1962, born and residing in Shkodra, was urgently escorted to the premises of the Korça Regional Hospital.

The convict was serving a sentence for the criminal offenses "Intentional Murder in Connection with Another Crime" and "Unlicensed Possession of Weapons", provided for by Articles 77 and 278 of the Criminal Code.

While serving his sentence, he was also treated for mental health problems by a psychiatrist.

In the consultation conducted this Monday by the institution's doctor, the 64-year-old was found to have a low heart rate (bradycardia).

For this reason, the convict was urgently sent to the emergency service of the Korça Regional Hospital for further evaluation by specialist doctors.

During examination procedures at the hospital, his health condition deteriorated, ending in cardiac respiratory arrest.

Despite the intervention and medical assistance provided, he was unable to be revived, resulting in his death.
