The administrator of the Bunec hydroelectric power plant whose dam burst the day before, Vangjel Ngjelo , has been criminally prosecuted.

The police inform that the Crime Investigation specialists of the Himara Police Commissariat referred the materials to the Prosecutor's Office, where proceedings were initiated for the criminal offense of "Destruction of Property" against citizen VN, 68 years old, resident of Gjirokastër.

"Yesterday, at around 12:30, at the hydroelectric power plant where he is the administrator, the dam broke, and as a result, the national road "Himarë-Saranda" was blocked and several houses in a place called "Bunec" were flooded," the police explain.

It is initially thought that the dam wall crack occurred due to a landslide near the dam.
