In quite a few cases, the targets of the Albanian "falcons" have been the villas of well-known footballers, but it seems that this time they chose the wrong person to attack, after they entered to rob the villa of the stars of Juventus, Angel Di Maria and Dusan Vlahovic.
While they were in the apartment, the robbers realized that the police had arrived at the scene, so they tried to run away by crossing the wall, while the driver who was waiting for them outside in an attempt to leave tried to crush one of the carabinieri.
The Italian police officer, found in a difficult position, was forced to shoot in the air. According to Corriere Della Serra , a 31-year-old Albanian, identified as David Zira, was taken into custody.
The Albanian "falcon" turns out to be a person with previous criminal precedents in the field of robberies. Together with his group, which consisted of three other people, who managed to escape from the Police, Zira had been under surveillance for several days.
The 31-year-old was wanted after the Court of Padua and Venice had issued arrest warrants against him.
The robbery plan
The Albanian together with the other members of the gang, whom the police suspect are also Albanians, had made an organized plan down to the last detail of how they would get in and then be able to leave. They arrived in Costa Alberto Riço in an "Alfa Romeo" that is suspected to be stolen and with forged license plates. One of the group members stayed in the car while the other three went up to the home of the Juventus stars.
Something seems not to have gone according to plan. The private guards guarding the villa spotted something suspicious and immediately alerted the operation center and the police were alerted and arrived in less than four minutes.
They were waiting for the arrival of Di Maria when in fact the police came. When the police were spotted, the Albanians rushed to run away by crossing the wall, while the driver who was waiting at the car in an attempt to leave tried to push and a police officer, who was found in that situation, was forced to shoot in the air. Three managed to run away, while the 31-year-old man, trying to leave, was caught a few meters away.
Car control
After the arrest of the Albanian, the police also seized the car used in the robbery, inside which were found bags, radio receivers, two cell phones, door locks, but also a gun that is suspected to have fallen from the driver in his haste to run away. The Police's suspicions are that the group of "hawks" has also committed other robberies in the area during the last few weeks. The Italian police have doubts that they are a group of professionals and have started checking all the security cameras in the area to make it possible to identify and capture the three fugitives.
