Police have arrested a 46-year-old man in Tirana, who is accused of supplying criminal groups with firearms.

Altin Celami is suspected of using his taxi to avoid police checks.

Tirana/The successive strikes by the DVP Tirana structures against illegal possession of weapons continue.

The police operation codenamed "Gun Expert" is being finalized by Police Station No. 4 in collaboration with the Traffic Section, followed by special investigative methods.

4 firearms, pistols, ammunition, cocaine and various weapon parts were seized.

A 46-year-old man who used his taxi to evade police checks was arrested for supplying criminal groups with firearms.

The 46-year-old has previously been implicated in the same criminal activity.

Police Commissariat No. 4 in cooperation with the Traffic Section of the Tirana DVP, under the direction of the Tirana Prosecutor's Office, as a result of an investigation conducted using special methods, finalized the police operation codenamed "Gun Expert".

As part of the operation, citizen AC, 46 years old, resident of Tirana, was arrested in flagrante delicto on Dibra Street, while driving a taxi.

During the physical search of the vehicle and the apartment, 4 firearms, pistols with combat ammunition, were found, which the investigation suspects were to be sold to criminal groups, the narcotic substance cocaine and various weapon parts which were seized as material evidence together with the vehicle.

Work is underway to identify other persons involved in this criminal activity.

The procedural materials were referred to the Tirana Prosecutor's Office, for the criminal offenses of "Unlicensed Possession and Production of Weapons, Explosive Weapons and Ammunition" and "Production and Sale of Narcotics".
