A 19-year-old man has been arrested by police after sending a threatening SMS to a police officer.

It is reported that yesterday, at around 6:00 PM, near the train tracks in the city of Lezha, police officers stopped a "Golf" type vehicle for inspection.

According to the report, the driver of the vehicle did not have a document for the tinted windows of the car and for this reason the officers removed the clothing he had put on to darken the vehicle's windows.

On 08.12.2024, at around 18:00, in the city of Lezha, near the train tracks, Police officers, in fulfillment of the tasks set out in the plan of measures to increase public and road safety parameters, stopped a "Golf" type vehicle for inspection.

During the search of the vehicle, no illegal items were found, while during the search of the vehicle's documentation, it turned out that the driver of the vehicle did not have a document for the darkened windows of the car, and for this reason, the Police officers removed the clothing he had worn to darken the vehicle's windows.

The driver of the vehicle did not object, but citizen R. Ll., 19 years old, a passenger in this vehicle, objected and insulted the police officers and immediately sent one of them a threatening message on his cell phone because his friend took off his clothing that had darkened the windows of the vehicle.

The procedural actions were carried out by the Prosecutor's Office's Special Investigation Unit and at the end of the actions, the 19-year-old citizen R. Ll., resident of Lezha, was arrested in flagrante delicto.

The procedural materials were referred to the Prosecutor's Office for further action for the criminal offense of "Threat due to duty".
