The gruesome murder of Alba Cenko/ The victim's relative speaks out about
Alba Cenko/ Kastriot Cenko

New details emerge regarding the macabre murder of Alba Cenko , who was killed by her husband Kastriot Cenko in Greece.

After the 39-year-old killed his wife with a hammer and strangled her, he hid the 32-year-old's lifeless body for a week in the attic of their apartment in Amopelikipoi.

Throughout the week that she kept the woman's body in the attic, Cenko sent messages to Alba's relatives through her phone so that they would not suspect anything about the macabre crime.

But the victim's sister suspected the first moment Kastrioti sent her messages from Alba's phone.

In an interview with News 24, Alba's sister's mother-in-law said that her daughter-in-law was suspicious from the beginning.

She said that in a communication that Kastrioti had with her daughter-in-law, he had told her that his sister had left home of her own free will. In the communication with Alba's sister, he called the victim a "prostitute."

Alba Cenko's sister-in-law: I heard the news from Facebook. They had been looking for her for a week. Where did we know what the relationship was like, I had not heard of any problems. Supposedly she had written to the boy herself that supposedly, mom was leaving... the daughter-in-law saw it and said this is not my sister's writing. Something is hidden behind the phone, that my sister does not write like this. She said this is not my sister's writing. Kastrioti opened it sometimes, sometimes he did not open it, no, she left of her own free will, not a prostitute. Ishalla is alive, they did not kill her, that's what she said.

Kastriot Cenko first hit his wife, Alba Cenko, in the head with a hammer, placed a phone charger around her neck, and then strangled her. He placed the 32-year-old's lifeless body in the bedroom closet and then in the attic, where it was found 7 days after the crime on December 5.

While planning how he would justify her disappearance, Kastriot Cenko used the victim's cell phone to deceive their minor sons and Alba's family.

The 39-year-old sent a message to two minor children with their mother's number, writing:  "Mom left to earn money, I ran away."

Shocking are the facts that emerge from the macabre crime in the Albanian family. For a long time, the perpetrator was convinced that his wife was cheating on him with a friend. On the day of the crime, the 39-year-old stated that he had heard his wife talking on the phone. He said that he thought that Alba Cenko was talking to her lover and decided to take her life.

Kastriot Cenko killed her without the children, who were sleeping in the next room, noticing at all, and the next day he took her body to the attic. Even pretending to be the victim, he sent messages to his sons, mentioning the word "father" at least 6 times in the text, as well as emphasizing the importance of his role.

In his statement to the police, the 39-year-old reportedly said that the conflict with his wife began at midnight, when he heard her talking on the phone with a man. According to him, the wife said that she would take the eldest son and leave the apartment.

"While the children were sleeping around 01:30, I woke up and saw that she was not in bed. She was in the bathroom talking on the phone. I heard her say that she was going to take our eldest son and leave, while a man's voice was on the other end of the phone. I told her to come into the room to talk. I asked her who it was and she told me that it was no one and that she was watching a video. After a while she admitted that she was talking to a man and that she was going to take the eldest child and leave,"  he told the police.

Albanian Kastriot Cenko testified that that night his wife told him that the eldest son was not his child, and at that moment he took the hammer and hit him.

"He told me that I have no money and that he would not stay with me. I asked him, 'Why are you taking our older son?' and he told me that he did not have this child with me and that we only had the younger son together. I was completely confused and opened the bag that I take to work, which I had next to our bed, took the hammer and hit him,"  he testified to officers, according to Greek media.
