Fiscal amnesty and "Golden passports" are not the only two risks that endanger Albania the return of visas, but also because of the immigrants who pass through our country to seek asylum in the European Union
EuObserver reports that the Czech Republic has distributed a memo, proposing the suspension of free movement with Albania and Serbia, due to the increase in the number of Cubans, Indians and Turks who are coming through these two countries to seek asylum in the EU.
The internal memo, which has been seen by EuObserver, says that Albania and Serbia have never fully aligned their visa waiver list with EU standards, despite enjoying visa-free movement in the bloc.
"This has contributed to the increase in the number of irregular migrants entering the EU through this route," the Czech presidency announced.
The memo says that the number of citizens from Turkey, Tunisia, India, Cuba, Burundi, etc., who enter by air through Serbia and Albania to the EU, has seen an extraordinary increase. The memo states that diplomatic pressure should be increased on Albania and Serbia to resolve this issue.
Prague says that, in the opposite case, it will propose the suspension of free movement with Albania and Serbia. Two days ago, when asked about the possibility of returning visas with Albania, the EU diplomat in Tirana, Christiane Hohmann, said that this remains in the hands of certain countries.
