Prime Minister Edi Rama, in his speech held at the SP Group, where he spoke about the GJKKO's security measures for lecturers at UBT, said that European justice must be guaranteed at all costs.
Rama emphasized that in Strasbourg, people investigated and convicted by SPAK have already been acquitted. He added that this means that the Albanian state has a huge financial cost. The head of government underlined that the SP is the only guarantor of justice reform today.
The Prime Minister said that he does not want "tomorrow or the day after tomorrow" some Dutch or Frenchman to come out and say that in Albania the courts and prosecutors' offices do not function in a European manner.
Edi Rama: Professionalism and democratic standards are non-negotiable conditions. I don't want a Dutchman to come forward and say that Albania does not have a court and a prosecutor who have democratic standards and do not recognize the presumption of innocence. I don't know where these Afrims and Larims were when SPAK was brutally attacked and they remembered now? To find a case where the ruling party does not defend someone who has been accused by the justice system, except us? But now that America has stepped out of line, who is the guarantor of the new justice? Only the SP, no one else.
Yesterday, a bad start was made for Albania in Strasbourg and many security measures could be undermined in Strasbourg. These have a very high cost. We cannot say that innocent people should be tortured. This does not make sense.
