After Shkodra, the coded police operation "Fijet" was executed today in the city of Vlora to dismantle the security cameras placed on the streets of the city by criminal groups.

The authorities inform that they have dismantled and seized 16 cameras, suspected to be connected to mobile devices of different citizens, which were installed in the neighborhoods "Uji i Ftohtë", "1 Maji", "24 Maji", "Lirim" and "Hajro Chakërri".

These cameras were installed by criminal groups in order to provide information for criminal purposes, as well as to monitor the movements of the Police.

We remind you that earlier 59 cameras installed by criminal groups in the city of Shkodra were dismantled and it is expected that the operation will continue in other cities as well.

The police have not yet identified who installed these cameras without permission on the main streets of the city.

The finalization of the third phase of the "Fijet" operation resulted in the dismantling of 16 cameras that were controlled by the criminal contingent, for the purpose of information. The cameras were placed in high-traffic areas in the city.

Investigations continue at the central and local level, with the aim of identifying the citizens who controlled these cameras, for criminal purposes.

The investigative structures of the DVP Vlorë in cooperation with the Vlorë Police Station, in implementation of the tasks defined within the nationwide operational plan coded "Fijet", initiated by the General Directorate of the State Police, as well as with the support of information intelligence, for the unauthorized placement of some cameras, in some neighborhoods of the city of Vlora, in order to provide information for criminal purposes, as well as to monitor the movements of the Police, have organized the work for the identification and dismantling of these cameras, the identification of their owners , as well as for full legal documentation of the purpose of use.

The services of the Vlora Police Station have dismantled and seized 16 cameras, suspected to be connected to mobile devices of various citizens. These cameras were installed in the neighborhoods "Uji i Tohtë", "1 Maji", "24 Maji", "Lirim" and "Hajro Çakërri".

The seized cameras were installed without the relevant permission of the competent bodies. Their deployment is contrary to Law 9887, dated 10.03.2008 "On the protection of personal data" and constitutes the criminal offense "Unjust interference in private life", which is provided for by Article 121 of the Criminal Code.

In cooperation with the Prosecutor's Office at the Vlorë Judicial District Court, intensive work continues to identify the citizens who have installed these cameras, as well as to fully clarify the purpose of their installation.
