The Italy-Albania drug trafficking gang that was destroyed by the mega-operation of the Italian authorities in cooperation with the Albanian authorities was led by 3 Albanians from Durrës. They directed and organized international drug trafficking. 

From the investigation started in 2017 between the Italian and Albanian authorities to dismantle the Italian-Albanian gang, 5 million euros and large quantities of drugs were seized. the operation carried out in coordination with EUROJUST resulted in 43 arrest warrants in both countries.

The criminal activity of this criminal group was mainly concentrated in Durrës as far as Albania is concerned.  

In the footage published by the Guardia di Finanza regarding the operation that destroyed the international drug trafficking group, a group led by 3 Albanians, there is a moment from the interceptions of the Italian authorities. In the intercepts is a gang boss boss teaching drug dealers how to distribute heroin.
