A serious incident occurred in the village of Mlizë in Elbasan, where 40-year-old Florian Tahiri tragically lost his life after being swept away by the current of a passing stream.

The incident occurred yesterday, while Florian Tahiri is suspected of being crossing the bridge when he was swept away by the increased water flow.

Ilia Tahiri is suspected to have been drunk. When he did not return home for lunch, his family raised the alarm and began searching along the stream bed.

Surveillance cameras from several businesses near the area captured the moments when the 40-year-old was swept away by the powerful current, helping search teams determine the direction of the body's movement.

Searches continued throughout the night by firefighting teams and Elbasan's civil emergency structures.

The deceased's lifeless body was found this morning, about 1 kilometer from the bridge where the incident is suspected to have occurred.

Police announcement:

On 26.11.2025, at around 20:00, the family of citizen IT, 39 years old, reported that he had left the apartment yesterday, at around 13:00. 

Immediately after the report, the Police services conducted continuous checks to find the 39-year-old.

During the checks in the village of Kryezjarr, the lifeless body of citizen IT was found in a stream.  

Initial investigations suggest that the 39-year-old man accidentally fell into the stream and drowned.
