Planned and ongoing raids and thefts in homes, businesses and villas, terrorizing the residents of the Venice region and beyond.
Italian police have dismantled a group of Albanian "hawks", arresting 4 of them in the latest raid in Padua, with the support of their colleagues from the Friuli police headquarters. The perpetrators were returning from robberies carried out in the Pordenone area.
Two of them also attempted to escape. The group is accused of stealing goods and items worth around 200,000 euros. Among the stolen materials were gold jewelry and luxury watches. The perpetrators had rented an apartment, where numerous pieces of evidence were found.
The police found a high-powered car, registered in the name of a person who had put false license plates on it. After discovering the location of the stolen goods, the police, delegated by the Euganea Prosecutor's Office, quickly organized the raid.
About fifteen officers surrounded the Albanians' apartment, then forced their way inside, surprising them as they returned. One of the criminals had moved his bed in the bedroom under the window, in case he could escape quickly, which he tried in vain.
The only person who attempted to escape is a 25-year-old man, who has been in Italy since 2018 and has no criminal record, with a fictitious residence in the Caserta area. The other two arrested are a 35-year-old man, who has been in Italy since 2005 and has been imprisoned twice in 2012, both for burglary, and in 2023 for possession of burglary tools and illegal possession of weapons.
The third is a 34-year-old man, who has been in Italy since 2018, and who was arrested in 2023 and 2024 for the same crime. He was also wanted because a detention order had been issued against him in connection with criminal proceedings by the Teramo Prosecutor's Office, also for burglary, Italian media reported.
