Upon completion of the investigations, Denis Meçe and Leonidha Guçe are accused of intentional murder, while Arjan Manellari, Voltan Shkulaku and Andi Shkulaku are accused of failing to report a crime and committing acts that impede the uncovering of the truth.

The Korça court has imposed the security measure "house arrest" on the two accused of intentional murder committed in collaboration, while the other three accused are being investigated with lighter security measures, "compulsory appearance".

Leonidha Guçe was initially investigated only for failing to report a crime, but 9 months after the murder, the Prosecution discovered that he had also participated in the brutal beating of Proga, along with Denis Meçe.

Proga was raped inside the bar by Leonidha Guçe and then beaten when she left the bar by Denis Meçe. This information was revealed during the defendants' confessions and their confrontation in the detention rooms.

Only a portion of the cameras were recovered by the Korça Prosecutor's Office, both in the bar where the incident occurred, and in a market across the street.

The footage was allegedly deleted by the bar's owner, Voltan Shkullaku, Leonidha Guçe and Arjan Manellari, using a computer virus.

Forensic examination confirmed that the 42-year-old had died as a result of cerebral hemorrhage in the brain membrane, caused by the punch.

In addition to forensic expertise, the Prosecution supported the charges against the persons involved in the murder also based on evidence and expertise from cameras from businesses located near the scene of the crime.

The murder of Egli Proga, which occurred on August 10, 2024, led to a clash between the police and the court, while the victim's family members demanded that the investigation include not only the accused, but also local police structures.

How did the murder of Egli Proga happen?

The murder of 42-year-old Egli Proga, a father of two, and the way the police handled the incident outraged public opinion. Citizens rose up in protest and, with candles and photos of Egli in their hands, demanded justice. Denis Meçe asked Proga several times to light a cigarette for him and after the latter had it ready, he told him to go get it, but Meçe entered the bar and they argued.

There he was shot by Leonidha Guçe and after he came out, Denis Meçe punched Proga, whose head collided with a parked car and the asphalt. A few minutes later, the ambulance arrived, and after being transported to the hospital, he was confirmed dead. The forensic examination determined the cause of death to be hemorrhage in the brain membrane and hemorrhage in the brain tissue.
