The security expert, Fatjon Softa, has expressed that the time has come for security cameras in Albania to take on an important role and be installed in all key points of different cities.

Softa made the comments on News24, where they were talking about the murder of businessman Edmond Papa, which, according to the investigation, showed that the suspected perpetrator was Albano Velo, the son of the police officer, Dilaver Velo.

Softa added that vetting in the State Police should be carried out to the end and according to him, the choice of the General Director of this structure should be made by the Parliament, with consensus from both parties.

He added that the method he proposed for the appointment of the Director General of the State Police would separate him from dependence on a specific minister.

"I want to look at it in a different light. The incident was discovered after cameras helped. There are many public executions in the center of Tirana that have not been clarified. It's about time there was a map of the cameras and how they are located. The cameras must also be controlled. There should also be coordination with businesses that have cameras. If there are cameras, which must have resolution, events are detected. For example, car washes or car repair shops should have high-resolution cameras, because they will go somewhere to fix cars.
