The "Gërdeci" file: SPAK sent a letter to the USA, requesting the

Although the Special Court of Appeal decided to remove the obstacle to try the former Minister of Defense Fatmir Mediu, for the Gërdeci case, SPAK has not yet sent the file for review.

It is learned that the Special Prosecutor's Office is waiting for the letter-order sent to the USA where it requested the questioning of Efraim Diveroli, a name mentioned for the contract with the Albanian Ministry of Defense.

SPAK seems to have decided not to send the file against the former minister to the court without the testimony and the materials coming from the USA.

Diveroli bought millions of dollars worth of Chinese munitions from our Ministry of Defense and sold them in Afghanistan as if they were Hungarian, through a realtor known by all the intelligence agencies of the world as an illegal arms trafficker.

The license of Diveroli and his firm AYE was blocked just a few days after the Gërdec scandal in Albania and the article published in the "New York Times" regarding this matter. He had noted in the documents that the Kalashnikov ammunition was Hungarian production from 1965-1975, but in fact they were Chinese production.

The cartridges were purchased in Albania based on several contracts with the state-owned company MEICO and the scandal came to light only after the repacking process in Albania.

To hide the Chinese origin of the weapons, Diveroli and the Albanian officials repackaged them by removing them from the old Chinese crates and placing them back in some new plastic crates.

The repackaging process started with the company of the Albanian businessman Kosta Trebicka, but then the Albanian government preferred to put into action Henri Tomein, a person known as an illegal arms trafficker, who artificially increased the price of weapons from 18 to 42 dollars for a box of ammunition. This money is suspected to have been divided between Albanian officials, Diveroli and Henri Tomei./OraNews
