Other details have emerged regarding the murder of 82-year-old Paulin Gina the night before in his apartment in Durrës.

Investigations suspect that the perpetrator, a 39-year-old man identified as Fation Janina, had gone to the elderly man's apartment to ask him for money, but Gina had not given him any.

Under these conditions, Fation Janina hit him with hard objects and a knife, causing him numerous wounds.

The marks on the body and the manner in which the murder was committed (closing the door) have led the police to suspect that the perpetrator was someone known to the victim.

As soon as the security cameras of a nearby gas station started to open, the victim's last movement was detected and the only entrances and exits that occurred in the building during this time slot were those of neighbors.

The police immediately began questioning and searches were conducted in the apartments.

After obtaining information through operational channels and attaching it to the investigations that have been carried out, the police of the city of Durrës have found the weapons of the crime in the apartment of Fation Janina. According to the data, the 39-year-old is an alcoholic and it is suspected that he may have been drunk when the incident occurred.

He killed the 82-year-old man with a knife and a hammer, for weak motives, hid the tools of the crime and locked the door of the victim's apartment from the outside. After several hours of investigative and professional work in cooperation with the Prosecution, the Police solved the case, identified the perpetrator of the murder and declared him wanted.

It was also possible to find and seize the tools of the crime and the clothing the perpetrator had when he committed the crime.

Intensive work continues to capture the 39-year-old man (the victim's neighbor).

The Durrës Police Commissariat services, at around 18:50 on 30.12.2024, received a report that in neighborhood no. 13, Durrës, an 82-year-old man was found dead in his apartment, suspected of having been injured with a cutting tool.

Immediately, the Police services, the investigative group, the specialists for the Investigation of Serious Crimes, the Director of the Durrës DVP and, under the direction of the Prosecutor's Office, continued investigative actions to clarify the circumstances and identify the perpetrator.

From the examination of the body of 82-year-old PG, the forensic expert determined that there were numerous injuries caused by cutting tools and hard objects.

After intensive investigative and professional work, it became possible to clarify the incident, identify and declare the suspected perpetrator, citizen FJ, 39 years old, resident of neighborhood no. 13, neighbor of the 82-year-old.

Following the actions, during the search of the suspected perpetrator's apartment, the Police found and seized as material evidence 2 knives, 1 hammer and the clothing that the perpetrator is suspected of having had during the commission of the crime.

The cutting tool, hammer and bloodstained clothing have been sent to the Scientific Police Institute for further examination.

Intensive work continues to capture the 39-year-old.

The materials were referred to the Prosecutor's Office for the criminal offenses of "Intentional Murder" and "Unauthorized Possession of Cold Weapons".
