The Tirana court has set the security measure "arrest in prison" for Gazmir Ngota and Marjeta Karaj, accused of murdering 61-year-old Mehdi Kurt-Deda in 2017, burning him alive in Kodër Shupal. Before the court, the suspect Karaj denied the crime, while her son, Besmir Karaj, was declared an accomplice in the crime.

We recall that in the area of ​​Kodër Shupali 5 years ago, 61-year-old Mehdi Shaban Kurt-Deda was brutally raped and chained to one of the trees and then burned alive.

The crime was solved 5 years later. The police said that the cause of the serious incident would be an unpaid debt in the amount of nearly 10 thousand Euros that the victim had to the citizen Marjeta Karaj, 56 years old, who was arrested days ago.

Together with him, 39-year-old Gazmir Ngota ended up in handcuffs. While in search, the son of the 56-year-old woman, Besmir Karaj, who turned out to have left the country, was announced.

"These citizens, in cooperation with each other, after having contacted the citizen Menduh Kurt-Deda in the area of ​​Xhamllik, who had been hiding for a long time, as a result of an unpaid debt, took him by force, in a vehicle, and they went to the area of ​​Allias, where they used violence against him. Then, they transported him to a forest area, to the place called "Kodër Shupal", where after they raped and tied the 61-year-old, they burned him with fuel", declared the director of the Tirana Police, Lorenc Panganika.

Bone remains found at the scene revealed the victim's identity. The 61-year-old worked in an organization with Marjeta Karai, who denied having anything to do with the incident during the interrogation by the police.

But the other arrested person was Gazmir Ngota, who admitted that he participated in the rape and then burning alive of 61-year-old Mehdi Shaban Kurt-Deda. The police say that Marjeta Karai was present when the victim was forced into the car, but not when he was killed.
