The General Council of the Albanian Bar Association met on Friday regarding the problems caused during the implementation of the justice reform in judicial practice in all criminal, civil and administrative areas, as well as those of the system's infrastructure.

One of the violations found by the Chamber of Advocates was the inactive role of the High Inspector of Justice.

For this reason, the Council drafted a series of proposals for interventions in the legal framework of the system in various areas, but also repeating the request for a review of the judicial map.

The proposals will be addressed to the Assembly of Albania, the High Judicial and Prosecutorial Councils, as well as the High Inspectorate of Justice.

"On Friday, the General Council of the Albanian Bar Association met. Given the situation in the judicial system, this Council reviewed the problems caused during the implementation of the justice reform in judicial practice in all criminal, civil and administrative areas, as well as those of the system's infrastructure, coming up with concrete conclusions for improvements that will be presented to the Albanian Parliament, the High Judicial and Prosecutorial Councils, as well as the High Inspectorate of Justice.
Also, a priority on the agenda was the identification of the mistreatment of the activity and role of the defense in investigative and judicial processes, where the most evident were those found in the two Special Courts against Organized Crime and Corruption. Among the multitude of violations found and made present, the inactive role of the High Inspector of Justice was identified.
In conclusion, the Council drafted a series of proposals for interventions in the legal framework of the system in various fields, reiterating the request for the review of the judicial map.
The Council, after contacts with the relevant institutions, will dynamically and responsibly follow their reaction, in order to revise the Chamber's position in the coming days.
