Even today, after the criminal consequences they are suffering, the two women interviewed by Inside Story are not clear about their situation.

Whether it's a defensive strategy or pure truth, it's hard to say. Their stance is that they didn't premeditate any criminal activity. In the absence of premeditation, they are seeking to mitigate their situation through the law.

"I spent more than a year and a half in the women's prison, in Ali Dem, in detention. Then under house arrest.

I believe that justice will prevail, but I can't take responsibility for the things that others do, I take responsibility for them, since I'm a parent.

"As a parent with a young child, how can you imagine that the child has to work for the parent, especially the mother," said HD, the suspected organizer.

"My life should return to normal, my card should be returned. Why shouldn't I go abroad, what crime have I committed?" said the cannabis worker.

The citizen with the initials DH is in a more difficult situation since the prosecution considers her an organizer. In fact, as we discovered above, her communications with the women who worked on different plots were essential in joining the proceedings and bringing charges of a structured group. But the two ladies are not the only ones involved in this story. The testimonies of other workers have been almost in the same line.

Inside Story brings their testimonies before the black platoons for the first time.

"I received a call from people I don't know and together with a group of women we went to Shkodra by bus with the intention of sending them to Malësia e Madhe to work with sage. When the police found us we were waiting for the person who would guide them for the work." DH

"I learned from some friends that in Malësia e Madhe they want workers for sage and pay 20 thousand lek per day. Given the economic needs, I accepted. We left by bus from Kamza at 05:00 and it took us to Shkodra. Then we went to the house where we were supposed to work and were caught by the police." F.Gj

"I heard from my friends that a van was coming and taking women from Fushe Kruja to collect medicinal plants in Shkodra. Since I have four children and a sick mother-in-law at home, I was unemployed myself, so I decided to go to work." VH

So, as can be seen from the women's testimonies, it is clear that they came from different cities. Some started from Kamza, mainly women who lived in Tirana, from Fushë Kruja, but there were also women from other areas such as Laçi or Lezha.
