Artan Myrta was shot dead this morning in Saranda, while a 73-year-old passerby was injured.

The serious incident occurred at around 09:55, near the former agency, in the city center.

The police, in a statement, stated that the circumstances of the execution are still unclear, while the perpetrators have left the scene. The injured man has been transported to the hospital, where he is receiving medical attention.

Immediately after the incident, the Police services began pursuing the perpetrators and set up checkpoints in the direction of Vlora and Gjirokastra.

Meanwhile, the investigative group, under the direction of the Prosecutor's Office, is working to clarify the circumstances, identify and capture the perpetrators.

Police announcement:

At around 09:55, at the former agency, under still unclear circumstances, citizen AM, about 44 years old, was shot dead, and citizen Xh. S., about 73 years old, a passerby, was injured, who was transported to the hospital for medical assistance.

Police services have been launched to track down the perpetrators. Checkpoints have been set up in the direction of Vlora and Gjirokastra.

The investigation team has gone to the scene and, under the direction of the Prosecutor's Office, work continues to clarify the circumstances, administer any evidence that serves the investigation, with the aim of identifying and capturing the perpetrators.
