The Special Court has sentenced Fatos Lulon, former member of the Constitutional Court, to 9 months in prison, who is accused of refusing to declare, not declaring or concealing assets.

GJKKO decided to convert this sentence into 80 hours of community work.

The Special Prosecutor's Office requested 1 year in prison for the former judge of the Constitutional Court Fatos Lulo and requested that this sentence be converted into 2 years of probation.

According to the prosecution, Lulo has a negative balance of income in two assets, an apartment in Tirana and a 172 m2 office declared as a gift on Durrës Street.

The Constitutional Judge was dismissed from the first instance of vetting on March 23, 2018, a decision also upheld by the Special Appeals Panel. A shop with an area of 172 m2 in Tirana was seized from him.

The former judge has stated that the shop on Durrës Street in Tirana, worth 120,000 euros, was given to him as a gift by his sister. The latter, according to him, donated 100 thousand euros, while he borrowed 480 thousand euros.

However, the veting commissions found that Fatos Lulos's sister did not have legal financial income to buy and then donate the store worth 120 thousand euros.
