A new page is opening for some old phones still used by a part of the population.

As is often the case, apps like WhatsApp are constantly updating their functionality for iOS and Android devices.

Unfortunately, this means that some older smartphone models will no longer be included.

For users of these devices, WhatsApp will no longer be functional. However, the web version of the app still remains usable.

Another option is to backup your data and switch to a new and updated phone that supports the latest versions.

Models affected by updates:

Android devices:

Samsung: Galaxy S3, Galaxy Note II, Galaxy Ace 3, Galaxy S4 Mini

HTC: One X, One X+, Desire 500, Desire 601

LG: Optimus G, Nexus 4, G2 Mini, L90

Sony: Xperia Z, Xperia SP, Xperia T, Xperia V

Motorola: Moto G (first generation), Droid Razr HD, Moto E (first generation)

Nokia: Lumia 920, Lumia 1020

Huawei: Ascend P6, Ascend Y300

ZTE: ZMAX, Grand X

iOS devices:

iPhone 5

iPhone 5c

An important detail: WhatsApp will stop working in May 2025 even for some slightly newer Apple models, including the iPhone 5s, iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus.

To ensure you don't miss messages and app functionality, it's recommended to update your device.

Enjoy the benefits of a new phone and keep pace with the latest technology!
