Christmas Day turned out to be tragic for an 8-year-old Albanian boy, who lost his life in a car accident in Foggia, Italy. 

It is learned that the child's name is Oriel. He lived with his family in Noicattaro, a province in Bari. Together with his father, mother and sister he had gone to Borgo Segezia the day before Christmas to the house of some relatives who live in this village.

According to the first investigations, the boy was playing football when he was hit by a car driven by a woman. The driver stopped to give first aid to the little one, but the 8-year-old died a few hours later in the hospital.

Oriel's family had just finished Christmas lunch when tragedy struck. The little one's relatives are known in Borgo Segezia.

"They are good people. Polite and hardworking. When we heard the news, we were afraid that it was one of the children who lives on that farm. We know them all. There are few of us here. We feel sorry for that child and his family. They had come that day to celebrate, but it turned into a tragedy," said the neighborhood pharmacist.
