The head of the State Cadastre Agency, Artan Lame, today denounced a disturbing phenomenon where it was attempted to produce fake property documents.
"There are several cases identified by us, for attempts to produce fake ownership documents, manipulated ownership certificates, or to include suspicious documents in the existing official documentation," said Lame.
Lame said that already with online services through the "e-albania" portal, this could not be done because the forged documents could not pass through the electronic system. As he said that such cases had been identified for the Directorates of Tirana, Kamza, Fier and Durrës, he added that there would be denunciations in the relevant prosecutor's offices for the persons involved.
"So in the network of the electronic system, all kinds of forged documents are starting to get stuck. We have identified such cases in some of the Regional Directorates of Tirana, Kamza, Fier and Durrës. All these cases identified so far will be reported by name and surname to the respective Prosecutor's Offices and those who have committed them will have to answer for the actions they have taken," he added.
Lame further called on citizens to be careful when buying property, not considering any document given to them by people who might try to deceive them as a certificate of ownership.
"I take the opportunity to appeal to the masses of honest citizens to be careful when buying property or carrying out actions with their property. Not every piece of paper that is handed to you by all kinds of scumbags is a certificate of ownership. all cases when you need to do such actions, turn to your trusted lawyer or notary, these are people who bear legal responsibility for the action they perform. Above all, apply to the Cadastre offices to request preliminary information that is more security" - concluded the head of the State Cadastre Agency.
