The former mayor of Lushnja, Fatos Tushe, was arrested by the police one day after the decision of the GJKKO Appeal, where another year of prison sentence was added to him for favoritism in tenders.

He was released from his cells on January 26, 2023 after serving a 2.4-year prison sentence handed down by the Court of First Instance. In total, for all criminal offenses the former mayor was sentenced to 5 years in prison, which is reduced to 3.4 years due to the shortened trial. Now he has 1 more year to stay behind bars.

According to SPAK, Fatos Tushe and the citizen Flamur Peqini, acting director of the Public Assets Enterprise, in cooperation with officials and other persons, have favored the company "Euro Alb shpk" with the administrator citizen Bujar Murati in the procurement for the rehabilitation of the irrigation channel of the village of Bishqethëm and Bitaj, Cologne Administrative Unit, with a fund of 28.5 million ALL.

The investigation has evidenced that even though this company was declared the winner and the contract was signed with it on November 11, 2020, while the benefit and the works were actually carried out by the businessman Ibrahim Lami of "Loti SHPK", who is a close connection of the mayor Fatos Tushe and Flag Peqini.
