The appeal of GJKKO upholds the seizure of 23 assets of Anton Gjinaj, convicted

The Special Court has upheld the seizure measure for 23 assets of businessman Anton Gjinaj (Pashuk Gjinaj).

The latter was sentenced to 8.9 years in prison by Spanish authorities for international drug trafficking and organized criminal grouping.

Gjinaj is known as a construction businessman, while he is currently in Reçi prison in Shkodër.

Who is Anton Gjinaj?

He is the administrator of the company "Alesio 2014", which exercises its activity mainly in Tirana and has managed to receive public tenders.

Gjinaj was convicted in Spain for drug trafficking as part of a criminal group that trafficked 50 kilograms of heroin in 2006. In 2021, he was arrested in Montenegro by order of Interpol Madrid.

While SPAK after that started a financial investigation on the activity of Gjinaj in Albania.
