"The war of the century", the director of security at ANA warns of

The Director of Security at AKSHI, Enis Ylli, has warned that other cyber attacks may occur in other sectors in our country, after that of e-albania and the TIMS system. Invited to A2 CNN , Ylli emphasized that everyone should be on the alert, since the goal of hackers is to create instability in the country.

" We must know that we must remain alert. It is not only the banking sector but also the electoral system, energy and everything that affects us in our daily life that the goal is to create instability in the country. This is a war that will continue, we have to get used to its existence ".

Describing cyber attacks as the war of the 21st century, Ylli emphasizes that more should be invested in monitoring, while appreciating the support of international partners.

" To understand the importance of cyber attacks, which is the war of the 21st century. We have constantly sought and supported. What needs to be invested is the monitoring part. Iran has invested 7 billion dollars in hacking, Albania's budget is half of this amount. We are analyzing the situation to respond to you in proportion to the risk. Until now, the security we have decided is proportional to our risk, if this risk will increase, it will require greater analysis and focus on Albania's cyber security .

Regarding the sale of TIMS data, Ylli emphasized that they are skeptical about their purchase, since according to him, the cost is low for the amount of data they claim to have.

" We have not tried to buy them and we are skeptical about the data they claim to have, that the very fact that this data in that amount and price may not be true and studying the data this cost for the data they have is very low. Why is this required? It is to create instability and concern in the population ".

From the analysis so far, in cooperation with the FBI and Microsoft, for which Ylli informs that this comes from the war that the two sides have in Iran, the Iranian government and the opposition.

" We have had two parallel investigations with the FBI and Microsoft, both of which have not shown the receipt of sensitive information. The attack of July 15 and September 9, the two infrastructures are different, not related to each other. It took us two months for the actual investigation so we still have to wait. From our studies, Albania is a collateral damage that comes from the war that the two sides have in Iran, the Iranian government and the opposition. The goal was to create instability in the country and ANA provides over 1,200 services to citizens and their absence would bring chaos and expand the effect on our systems .

It says partners can only tamper with protective structures and not data.
"No to the data, but yes to the protective structure. For the Balkans, there has been increased assistance from NATO, but this is happening all over the world. "Yesterday, sensitive NATO information came out from Portugal."

According to Ylli, it is difficult to recover quickly from such an attack, which goes through several stages, since the intervention in our country started in 2021.

" The intervention started in May 2021, this is derived from the reports that we have given approval for everything to be clarified for the public, it should be understood that such an attack is not so simple and does not require so little time, the attack started in another infrastructure that is not managed by ANA and this is the first phase.

Cyber attacks go through several stages; the first is the compromise, the entry point then the security protection system and then in the implementation of the plan thought from the beginning. If it was a simple attack if we had accessed the first compromised machine, we would have destroyed that machine. It is difficult to recover quickly from such an attack and to recover quickly you need to have a policy for responding to such incidents. This showed that our policies were correct ".
