The tragedy in Shkoder

Journalist Anila Hoxha, invited to Top Talk, spoke about the tragedy in Shkodër, an indescribable event even for a journalist, as she calls it.

"You can't find any motive for this tragic act", says Hoxha, while showing some details about the case so far, where the mother Alma Arrazi allegedly committed suicide along with her three children.

The bodies of two of the children have been found, while the work to find the bodies of the mother and the other child is ongoing.

"On a security camera, they saw the mother leaving with her three children, walking on the bridge, but there is no footage showing the mother committing the tragic act. It is not proven whether it was thrown together with the children", said the journalist.

About Alma's husband, Argys Arrazi, who has been put in handcuffs, Anila said that his family claims that Alma used depression drugs

"When the husband was asked, he said that he did not know anything, but he asked for the help of the police because he suspected that he would not return. The police arrested him for causing suicide, due to the neighbors' testimonies that he was abusing them, a version that has been rejected by him. According to Ergysi's family members, Alma used depression medication, but it has not been confirmed that the doctor admitted that he gave her medication," she says.

The journalist further showed such horror cases, where the mother, due to the violence inflicted on them and the economic impossibility, took such actions.

"You should not be silent. We have a reality related to our culture, things are sometimes so against violence against women. The property belongs to the head of the family. A woman without economic support with small children, where to go? Before a marital crisis and parents telling them to 'hold on a little longer'. Where does this woman go with a rental bonus? What will he live with?"
