Accused of taking bribes to cover up accident with 5 injured, SPAK files
Sokolo Novaku and Roven Zeka

The Special Prosecution Office read the final conclusions for former road chief Roven Zeka, requesting his sentence of 4 years in prison, reduced to 2 years and 8 months due to the summary trial, and converted to 3 years of probation.

For former accident investigation chief Sokol Novak, SPAK requested the same sentence.

For Bledi Belba, the prosecution requested a sentence of 1.6 years in prison, to suspend the sentence, and to be placed on probation.

As for OPGJ officer Edison Tabaku, the prosecution requested his guilty plea and a sentence of 5 years in prison, as well as a reduction of 1/3 of the sentence.

For Ergest Vrioni, who gave Edison Tabaku a sum of money to hide the accident that injured 5 people, SPAK requested a 2-year sentence. Due to the summary trial, the sentence should be reduced to 1 year and 4 months and suspended, placing Vrioni on probation for this period.

SPAK requested the confiscation of the money given to Edison Tabaku. Investigations showed that Zeka, in collaboration with two former police officers, received money from Ergest Vrioni, so that the accident caused by his wife Anisa Vrioni would not be referred to the prosecutor's office and investigations would not be initiated.

The prosecution says that €2,000 was requested so that Anisa Vrioni would not be arrested for causing the accident with several injuries, and that this money was requested to be given quickly.

The people who gave the money to Edison Tabaku were Ergest Vrioni and Bledi Belba.
