Socialist MP Erion Braçe has reacted to the accusations of former Deputy Prime Minister Arben Ahmetaj regarding allegations of an international arms trafficking scheme.

Invited to News24, Braçe stated that he is not aware of the specific statements, but underlines that every citizen has the right and responsibility to denounce a fact that may constitute a criminal offense.



According to him, if law enforcement agencies have facts and evidence, they can also initiate an investigation in person.

Braçe: In my concept, or as far as I know the issue of arms trafficking, starting from the period when we were in opposition, arms trafficking has been linked to countries in conflict and where the sale of arms has been prohibited by UN resolutions. In that period, we sold arms to Rwanda.

Serbia has been one of the countries that has benefited immensely from this history, whether with oil or armaments.

I don't know if the gentleman has this line of trafficking in mind or not. Everyone in this country has a constitutional and legitimate right to report. When you become aware of a fact of a crime, even arms trafficking, you must report it.

Of course, if there are elements of a criminal offense, law enforcement agencies can also initiate an investigation based on facts and evidence.
