After "Albania Becomes" and the "Diaspora for a Free Albania" Association filed requests for the repeal of the Normative Act on the financing of Kanye West's concert and its suspension, the Constitutional Court announced that both requests were incomplete due to lack of documentation and gave the applicants a 10-day deadline to complete the file. Otherwise, the requests will be archived.
"In response to your interest in the requests submitted by the "Albania Becomes" Party and the "Diaspora for a Free Albania" Association, I inform you that on 10.07.2026, two requests were submitted to the Constitutional Court with the aim of repealing Normative Act No. 3, dated 06.07.2026, "On the partial financing of the organization of a cultural-tourist activity of international proportions", as well as the suspension of its implementation.
During the preliminary verification of the requests, it was found that they were incomplete and were not accompanied by all the documentation required by law.
Specifically, the "Albania Becomes" Party had not attached the act of establishment and the party's statute, while the "Diaspora for a Free Albania" Association had not submitted documentation proving its legal status, as well as the act of representation for the lawyers declared in the request.
For this reason, both requests have been registered as incomplete requests and the applicants have been asked to complete the documentation within the 10-day deadline provided by law.
"If the documentation is not submitted within this deadline, the requests will be archived," the Constitutional Court announces.
Earlier, the Head of Albania Behet requested from the Constitutional Court to act without delay, as according to him the financial effects have begun and it will be too late to return the money to the state budget. Lapaj said that it also violates the equality of citizens before the law.
